Mailbox
Introduction
A
mailbox, also called a letter box, is a receptacle mount on the house, gate or
on the street whose sole purpose is to receive incoming mails
. Postal service
officials (mailmen) drop mails in the respective mailboxes where the recipients
get them. It is a tradition especially in the west that every household be
fitted with a mailbox. In addition, other private residents fit an extra post
box where they put all outgoing mail so as to be collected by mailmen. The two
boxes may be adjacent but labeled.
Just
like the car we drive or dresses we put on, mailboxes may create the first
impression to people who visit our premises. Most people are not aware that
actually the design and the condition of their mailboxes speak words of their
passion, priorities, values and character among others. A well designed and
maintained mailbox tells of the owner’s taste of class as well as his level of
cleanliness. On the contrary, a mailbox not well maintained shows that the
owner has other priorities. In addition, a person’s hobby or passion may be
represented by the design of his mailbox. It is likely to find footballers or
football funs adopting a design with a football related theme for their
mailboxes.
